RVA Football Club is a minor league soccer team based in Richmond, Virginia. Established in 2013, the team plays in the (NPSL) National Premier Soccer League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. RVA FC will play in the new South-Atlantic Conference.
The National Premier Soccer League(NPSL) is the top Semi Professional operating league in the United States. Sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation(USSF), the NPSL is considered the 4th tier of professional soccer within the United States behind Major League Soccer(MLS). The NPSL offers the highest level of soccer competition available in the United Sates without forfeiting a player's amateur status. Players who compete within the NPSL are also able to play on their college soccer teams.
Taking place during the NCAA I "off season", May - July, the NPSL is designed for players who are looking to develop their skills and play at the United States top level of professional soccer. 80% of players who sign with Major League Soccer(MLS) clubs (Ex. D.C. United, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls) have competed at the NPSL, USSF tier 4 level.
